Meet your Navasota Health Care Provider – Dr. Diahann Marshall
Originally from the beautiful islands of The Bahamas, Dr. Marshall moved to the US after living in Ecuador, South America, to pursue higher education. This move led her to pursue undergraduate degree at the nation’s first historically black university, Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. There Dr. Marshall graduated magna cum laude in Human Services and Spanish. Following this accomplishment, she decided to pursue her life long dream of becoming a physician. She graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in 2015. Dr. Marshall completed her Family Medicine internship/residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. It was during her tenure at Henry Ford Hospital Dr. Marshall participated in the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Emerging Leaders Scholar program. She subsequently received the AAFP Foundation’s Family Medicine Cares Service award. Dr. Diahann Marshall is board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.
Professional Career as a Health Care Provider:
Dr. Diahann Marshall’s practice focuses primarily on prevention of chronic diseases. To accomplish these goals she starts with lifestyle modifications and healthy living habits while also effectively managing chronic conditions. Her areas of interest include Weight Management, Women’s Health, Diabetes and Hypertension.

After graduating medical school Dr. Marshall had a conversation with HealthPoint’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nicolwala. Dr. Marshall said, “I was struck by his passion for serving in rural communities and providing care for those who may not be able to afford it. I was sold on the mission after one phone call.” Dr. Marshall was so inspired she accepted a posting at our Navasota clinic shortly thereafter.

Dr. Marshall is a dog mom to Mason, loves yoga and adventurous activities and is a member of several community service organizations including the Texas AFP, AAFP and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Her favorite quote is, “Everyone starts at the beginning; getting good at something starts with trying.”
