Meet Miguel De La Torre, MD

Education:

Born in Cuba, Dr. De La Torre had a passion for medicine from a young age. Because circumstances in Cuba forced his family to flee to Puerto Rico, he encountered more than a few detours. Still, in Puerto Rico he had the opportunity to attend the University of Puerto Rico. De La Torre earned his undergraduate degree, and his passion became his purpose. After this accomplishment, he applied and gained acceptance into the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City, where he earned his medical degree. De La Torre finished his residency with a family practice in particular as his specialty at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. 

Professional Career:

Dr. De La Torre’s board certification is in Family Medicine. Family physicians are considered the most versatile of all physicians. They provide comprehensive care to patients of all genders and all ages. Their extensive training beyond medical school allows them to provide the best possible patient care. De La Torre has in-depth training across the human lifespan. In addition to diagnosing and treating illness, he also offers preventive care. As a family practice physician, he provides routine checkups, health-risk assessments, immunization and screening tests, and counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. From heart disease to stroke and hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and asthma, family physicians provide ongoing, personal care.
