Meet Sean Martin, M.Ed, LPC, NCC
Sean Martin, M.Ed, LPC, NCC, joined HealthPoint as our Director of Behavioral Health in January of 2022.
Above all, Sean is a nature lover and water enthusiast. He appreciates balance. Sean finds this work-play balance in hiking and canoeing with his family along Texas’ beautiful rivers and waterways. He grew up near the gulf coast, where hurricanes and floods were a part of life. Still, the water always receded, the rivers and tides always returned to normal, and nature always found its balance surprisingly quickly. Sean always wished people and communities could do the same.
Sean Martin is a Licensed Professional Counselor from Southeast Texas who decided to go into a helping career at a young age. He attended Lamar University’s award-winning Social Work Program, graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work. Afterward, Sean began working as an investigator for Child Protective Services in Orange County, Texas. He soon pursued a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. In fact, the experiences there helped shape the future of Sean’s career.
Thankfully, after graduating, Sean started working for a Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA). Soon, he met incredible mentors who taught him the importance of taking chances and stepping out of his comfort zone. Sean found himself embracing the position of a Humanitarian Aid Responder, facilitating Trauma-Informed Training to First Responders. For example, those who work in areas that experienced a natural disaster. He later moved into a role supporting the operations of mobile physical and mental health clinics in these areas.
Sean is a results-driven and innovative Behavioral Director & Counseling Expert with 11+ years of integrated experience in delivering top-notch psychological health services across diverse groups. He has a proven track record. Specifically, his achievements include: spearheading institutional initiatives, improving operational processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance to expand service capacity and ensure high-quality programs.
