We are excited to welcome Ashley Richardson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, to HealthPoint’s Hearne Clinic. Learn more about her below:
Ashley has known she wanted to enter the medical field since she was a child. At just four years old, her mother caught the flu. According to her mom, Ashley was her personal nurse and announced that she would be a nurse when she grew up. Ashley began her nursing career after graduating from the Blinn College Vocational Nursing-Brenham program as an LVN in 2013. She went on to attend Lone Star, College-North Harris. There she earned her Registered Nurse – Associate Degree in Nursing. Next, Ashley enrolled in the RN-BSN program at the University of Texas at Arlington. After graduating, she pursued her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Ashley has a professional background in geriatrics, wound care, and psychiatry. She began working as a Charge Nurse and then transitioned into the role of Wound Care Coordinator at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ashley’s next professional move led her to work as a Registered Nurse Case Manager with Sevita Health Services. There, she partnered with the local MHMR Authority to aid in medical/psychiatric care for the intellectual or developmental disability community.
Ashley had the opportunity to do a clinical rotation while pursuing her degree with one of our providers, Christi Robbins, WHNP. Here is why she chose HealthPoint:
“I enjoyed the atmosphere of the company. I was also intrigued by how Healthpoint was closing the gap between adequate healthcare within the populations that are being served. My plan is to aid in extending and improving the quality of life across my patients’ lifetimes. My ultimate goal is to leave an impactful mark on my community and the world before God calls me home.”
More about Ashley:
“In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our seven children, and my granddaughter (she calls me Nonna). My children are student-athletes so throughout the week, after work, and on the weekends, I enjoy cheering them on in basketball, football, and softball.”
