Bornin in India, Dr. Pramoda Mohapatra eventually emigrated to the United States in 1981. He enrolled in a bachelor’s of science program at the University of Maryland. He was so passionate about his work he then pursued his Master’s degree from the same university. Of course, Dr. Mohapatra did not stop there. In 1987, just six years after arriving in the United States, he earned a PhD. Specifically, his scientific research was focused on high-energy physics at the University of Delaware and the University of Colorado.
So how did this physicist become a medical doctor? While at the University of Colorado Mohapatra became interested in medicine. He graduated at the top of his class in 1999. Afterward, he completed both his internship and residency at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver; Colorado.
